Profile
Bill Blankenship, a longtime island resident, opened Doc’s Seafood & Steak Restaurant in the fall of 2004. Out on the island, which is a little piece of heaven, he was better known as “Doc.” Throughout his life, Doc adored being by the sea and taking in the sights of others having a good time. Doc, who held three medical degrees and served in four wars, had a lengthy and illustrious military career. He was the most prestigious practicing physician in the US Navy at the time of his passing. His children incorporated his name into the restaurant to remember him.
Corpus Christi is the ideal setting for Doc’s Seafood Restaurant, a Gulf Coast legend in and of itself, as it boasts some of the most stunning beaches and distinctive species on the Gulf Coast. It is the ideal location to enjoy fresh Gulf seafood, refreshing drinks from the bar, and live music every night from Memorial Day through Labor Day and weekends in between. It is directly under the JFK Bridge connecting Corpus Christi to Padre Island.
Diners can enjoy fantastic indoor and outdoor vistas, fresh Gulf seafood, hand-cut Angus beef steaks, and tropical mixed beverages at Doc’s lovely waterfront location. The bar serves a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including the N/A Brooklyn Special Effects.
