Profile
The Gray Canary is situated at The Old Dominick Distillery in Downtown Memphis’ South Main Arts District. The Gray Canary wants to contribute to downtown Memphis’ revitalization. Entering The Gray Canary immediately generates an engaging experience, preserving a specific moment and a vividly colored memory of a meal. The menu examines how different cooking methods can affect flavor, including raw to cooked, acid to smoke, grilled to one-pot cooking, and how embers and ash can bring out the best in produce and proteins. The chefs will try methods as various and well-known as backyard barbecues and South American Asado cookery.
The visitor experience will start with a raw bar, which offers the greatest sustainable oysters from the gulf, east, and west coasts, as well as raw fish prepared in the style of sashimi. It then moves to the wood fire kitchen, where the chefs prepare enjoyable, thrilling, and potent food. The dinner will satisfy the palate and nurture the soul, from small plates to vegetable-focused entrees to large format protein and soft serve. In addition to a long list of wines from different parts of the world, The Gray Canary also serves spirits and beers. For non-drinkers, the St. Pauli Girl is available, which is a non-alcoholic beer.
