Profile
Alcohol consumption has decreased over the past ten years as people have become more aware of the harmful effects of consuming too much alcohol and sugar. However, there aren’t many well-known places that are known for providing more mature options for the populace who completely or occasionally desire to abstain from alcohol.
UnBar, an alcohol-free cafe in Cleveland’s Larchmere area, bills itself as a place where sober and health-conscious individuals may discover a bar-like scene without alcohol. Beyond its beverage and food menus, it intends to offer the community some of its activities. The calendar of UnBar’s events will list board game nights, poetry nights, line dancing, karaoke, Zumba classes, and more. UnBar’s founder Melissa Hirsch, who doesn’t consume alcohol, was motivated to start it because she yearned for after-work activities that involved socializing without drinking.
The menu at UnBar features traditional café fare (coffees, lattes, smoothies, and tea) and a number of mocktails made with nonalcoholic liquors. The café offers light fare like yogurt, sandwiches, and salads as far as food is concerned. Vegan BLT from Damn Good Vegan is also available. The selection of refreshers includes Dragon Fruit Lychee, Watermelon Cucumber Mint, Strawberry Acai, and Wild Berry Hibiscus. These are made using green coffee extract, a natural source of caffeine. The drinks are garnished with real strawberries, oranges, dragonfruit, and mixed berries over ice.
