Profile
Shannon Healy opened Alley Twenty Six in September 2012, reinventing what it means to consume alcohol in a local bar with a dedication to using locally produced ingredients and a love for upholding the art of the traditional cocktail. In order to offer upmarket food and cocktail pairings, Alley Twenty Six expanded its area and added a kitchen in 2017 after hiring Chef Carrie Schleiffer.
Alley Twenty Six has long been a go-to place for mixed drinks in Bull City. It’s always a classy place for a higher-end drink with the appropriate high-end cocktail rates because of its reputation for fresh ingredients, house-made syrups, and thoughtfully created beverages. This lounge is typically packed with Durham residents on weekends because of its cozy long bar, crammed seating, and cool alleyway patio. A wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails are available. The Zero ABV selection includes the Mangrove Spritz, made with mango syrup, cold-brew coffee, orange, lemon, Fee Brothers Aromatic Bitters, and, soda.
A neighborhood cocktail bar in Durham, North Carolina, offering exquisite cuisine and drink pairings in a relaxed atmosphere, the bar on Alley Twenty Six has received multiple accolades for Best Cocktail and Best Bartender from prestigious regional newspapers in Durham and the Triangle. It has also been highlighted in Our State Magazine, Travel & Leisure, Food52, and USA Today.
