Profile
Since 1975, W.A. Frost has been offering acclaimed modern American food in a setting reminiscent of the early 20th century on historic Cathedral Hill. The 14-foot-deep stone foundations were used by the Hennessey brothers to build the structure to last. The magnificent apartments on the upper levels had a fireplace, elaborate plasterwork, and tile floors. They included contemporary amenities, including speaking tubes and motorized doorbells. The Dacotah’s main floor was home to a ladies’ spa and nail salon, as well as Mr. William A. Frost’s drugstore.
What began in 1975 as a beautifully renovated tavern with food delivered by neighborhood caterers has evolved into a full-service restaurant with an award-winning wine list, fine dining menus, patio dining in the summer, fireplaces, steaming coffee drinks in the fall, and catered events year-round. The location of several commercial transactions, marriage proposals, and inviting gatherings for friends, W.A. Frost once more extends a warm greeting to everyone on Historic Cathedral Hill.
The drinks menu at W.A. Frost features a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic wines, cocktails, and beers. The N/A selection includes Lagunitas IPA, Ariel Cabernet Sauvignon, and the Grapefruit Paloma. The latter, which is a no-proof cocktail, is made with Mexican Agave Spirit, Wilfred’s Bittersweet Orange, rosemary, and grapefruit.
