Profile
As with most brilliant concepts, EMBC was conceived while drinking beer on a porch in lawn chairs. Dayne, one of the founders, had recently returned to Michigan after living in England and had acquired a rural property. On the back porch, the three friends who would later discover EMBC were talking about what they might do with the nicely constructed barn sitting empty on his property. The notion? Obviously, start a brewery! Their side business would be this microbrewery and doing something enjoyable together.
The concept became a reality after a year of hard work, perseverance, and just the right amount of luck. The mission of EMBC is to revive the illustrious legacy of beer brewing in Eastern Market, which has housed dozens of breweries over the past century. However, by fusing tradition with experimentation, EMBC will leave its stamp on Eastern Market. In order to support the market sellers and regional companies who have helped make Eastern Market what it is today, beer will, if possible, be brewed using local ingredients.
EMBC crafts alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for everyone. Their first-ever non-alcoholic beer was the Non-Alcoholic Grapefruit Gose, made with grapefruit zest and Himalayan sea salt. It has a bright citrus flavor just like any of their goses, but without the alcohol!
