Profile
One of the best craft cocktail programs in the Tampa Bay Area is accessible to the general public through the unassuming entry to The Ship’s Hold, which is tucked adjacent to The Galley. The greatest rum and amaro collections in Central Florida are on display at the nautical and island-themed bar, providing its skilled mixologists with much to work with as they create distinctive, imaginative, and tasty drinks.
As one might expect, there are a lot of tiki drinks on the cocktail menu (though there are also plenty of current favorites), and the focus is on authentic, handcrafted tiki that is spirit-forward. There is also a spirit-free cocktail selection, which includes the Vaudeville Spritz. This non-alcoholic drink is made with Lyre’s Italian Spritz, Blood Orange Oleo, and Effervescence. The Ship’s Hold typically has 8–12 different shrubs, infusions, and syrups on the go at once.
Despite the expensive cocktails, the setting is still rather casual. It’s simple to picture yourself within the hold of an actual ship, sipping rum and forgetting all your worries thanks to the dark lighting, wood paneling, and maritime decor. In fact, The Ship’s Hold has gained a devoted following among coworkers in the hospitality sector who value fine beverages and a cozy bar equally.
