Profile
First Edition is a comic book-themed bar in Uptown Oakland that enjoys sharing its love of crafting cocktails with its customers. It aims to foster a friendly, welcoming, clean, safe, and inclusive atmosphere. The space at the venue is about 3000 square feet, including two mezzanines, an outside roof deck, and two complete bars. Local artist Michael Brennan, who draws inspiration from graphic novels and comic books, produced all of the artwork at First Edition.
First Edition doesn’t serve any food, but customers can order at the taqueria behind the venue. You can order from the Xolo menu, and the staff at First Edition will bring your food to you.
The menu should make it easy for customers to experiment with various beverages. The James Beard Award-winning book The Cocktail Codex, which claims that six “root” cocktails form the basis for all other cocktails, served as the inspiration for First Edition’s drinks menu. The six root cocktails, six traditional spins on those root cocktails, and six innovative twists on those root cocktails are all available. They also provide three cocktails with low ABV and three without. You can try the N/A cocktail called “God of Mischief” (Seedlip Spice, tonic water, green tea) or the low ABV option called “Killa Kwinn” (vodka, Aperol, lemon, and sparkling rose).
