The Carneiro family established the Novo Brazil Brewing Company, an internationally acclaimed brewery with a Southern California base and a Brazilian soul. The Chula Vista-based brewery thrives on its distinctive beer lifestyle, which is properly reflected in the brand’s vibrant accents, exquisite fragrances, and deliberate taste combinations. Novo has established itself as a coveted brand in the California beer industry, with a striking tasting area painted in a Brazilian-inspired aesthetic. Novo has expanded beyond its initial Chula Vista location by opening a brewpub in Otay Ranch. This 12,000-square-foot establishment includes a bar, restaurant, and brewery.
Aside from premium beers, Novo also offers alcoholic and non-alcoholic kombucha. Non-drinkers can choose between kombucha flavors, such as guava mint, mango pineapple, and watermelon lime. In the 2016 World Beer Cup, Novo Brazil Brewing won a US bronze medal for their Corvo Negro Russian Imperial Stout, placing them third out of 53 breweries. They also received US honors recognition for Best IPA and Best Lager in the 2016 World Beer Awards for their Otay IPA and Chula Pils Pilsner.
