Profile
Established in 1996, Moose’s Tooth serves pizza and beer from Broken Tooth Brewing (with a side of tie-dye). They work hard to provide a genuine gourmet pizza experience, emphasizing imaginative, top-notch cuisine in a relaxed setting. This Anchorage icon was started by a rather odd pair: two young college buddies who chose against pursuing professions in law and computer science, respectively.
They developed a bright yet risky idea during their college years while plotting and daydreaming over pizza and microbrews during the early boom of Portland’s craft beer scene. They eventually brought Rod’s brother, Warren, into the group (the Hancock brothers are still active participants in the businesses to this day). The city of Anchorage has essentially been waiting with beers in hand for an empty table ever since they opened their doors that first night.
The oldest and newest member of the Tooth family is Broken Tooth Brewing. When Moose’s Tooth originally launched, it was once known as Denali Brewing, and for its first few years, it went by Moose’s Tooth Brewing Company. The brewery wanted to create its own identity as the company grew larger, so in 2013 it became the current and final iteration of Broken Tooth Brewing.
Moose’s Tooth offers a long list of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Aside from non-alcoholic beers, the bar serves housemade draft sodas, drip coffee from Kaladi Brothers, and assorted hot teas from Indigo.
