Spec’s Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods has been a family-run liquor shop in the community since 1962. There is always a store close by where you can shop their incredible range of wines, liquors, beers, gourmet foods, accessories, and more, thanks to our over 100 locations throughout Texas. The store keeps up a successful effort every year to quench the Texans’ hunger for a wide variety of goods at reasonable costs. Spec’s Laredo is located next to Toys R Us, Petco, and Kohl’s at the Mann Road and San Bernardo Avenue intersection.

Houston hosted the opening of the first Spec’s in 1962. The shop was started by Carroll B. “Spec” Jackson and Carolynn Jackson. “Spec” Jackson desired to work for himself and amass sufficient wealth to free Carolynn from employment. The shop’s name, “Spec’s,” was derived from his nickname for his glasses.

In order to meet client demands, Spec’s entered the food industry in the late 1980s with po’ boy sandwiches, crackers, and cheese. It was just the start of what would eventually grow to be a sizable assortment of gourmet foods from around the globe. Today, Spec’s sells a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. You can get different kinds of non-alcoholic beers, wines, and spirits, such as Ariel N/A Chardonnay, Fre N/A Red Blend, and Athletic Run Wild N/A IPA.
