The founders’ last names, Olivia Lussi and Sarah Brown are combined to form the name, Lussi Brown. They made the decision to intensify their obsession with excellent coffee and delectable drinks when they successfully opened Lussi Brown Coffee Bar in downtown Lexington in June 2017.

Some of the best-trained baristas in the industry work for Lussi Brown. Making coffee is an art. Having a bar is a craft. Lussi Brown possesses the expertise, know-how, imagination, and enthusiasm to combine these and give Lexington’s coffee scene a fresh flavor.

Lussi Brown is the first and only coffee shop in Lexington to provide coffee and tea-based drinks. The phrase “Pick Your Poison” inspired the skull and crossbones, which is the bar’s logo. Poison was a colloquialism for alcoholic beverages in the middle of the 19th century. You typically have to choose one over the other because alcohol is a downer, and coffee is an energizer (your poison). Simply put, you don’t have to pick between the two at Lussi Brown, as they offer a wide range of coffee beverages with alcohol.

Mocktails are available based on the Autumn Cocktails menu. Try their Gizmo’s Joyride, made with chilled apple cider, N/A bourbon, housemade pumpkin spice syrup, and magic cinnamon.
