Profile
Dinner out once meant strong Manhattans and pin curls, along with the sound of ice-cold glass clinking against the wood. The maître d’ had your table ready while the music played and the lights dimmed. That is the atmosphere at The Betty. A restaurant in Buckhead that serves retro splendor with a decidedly modern twist.
The Betty has a vintage feel, from the ambiance to the gorgeous garden landscaping. The pleasant bar, with its warm hardwoods, mood lighting, and bartenders showcasing their shake and stir, is where evenings begin. Wine soon replaces the cocktails, and it’s time for the main event: the chef’s modern take on supper club classics, recreated with local, seasonal ingredients.
Sommelier Joe Billesbach, born in Nebraska and raised in New Orleans, has long admired the many dynamic facets of the hospitality industry and the distinctive experiences it offers, from the impeccable service within a fine dining establishment to the eccentric charm of a neighborhood corner cafe. Joe worked as a dishwasher, cook, bartender, sommelier, wine sales representative, and wine director for many years while learning the business’s ins and outs. Now, he crafts alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails for patrons at The Betty. The N/A option includes the Honey Do, made with fresh cucumber, honeydew syrup, and lime.
