Profile
Wild Child is a bistro and cocktail bar in St. Petersburg that introduces fresh elements of its ideas. That means fresh meals just in time for the oppressive heat to subside and open the door to some patio dining. In order to open the neighborhood bistro and cocktail bar, whose menu relies on seasonal ingredients, The Bends owner Matt Kaye teamed up with Rob Reinsmith, a former executive chef at Noble Crust.
Locals in St. Pete should try the jerk octopus with Meyer lemon jam, pickled shallots, and Thai basil, snapper ceviche with watermelon, cucumber, avocado, Serrano chiles, and crispy plantain chips, agave-glazed lamb ribs with goat cheese and golden raisin-fennel relish, and fried cauliflower with grapes and Tahini-herb yogurt.
There should be a huge cheer for the cocktails at Wild Child! There is always something fresh to try, from house specialties to classics, tiki drinks, spritzers, beer, and wine! Aside from the Kaliber Non-Alcoholic Beer, there’s also ginger kombucha from the menu of non-alcoholic options.
The addition of Wild Child to Central Avenue’s dining scene is a major development. Thanks to St. Pete-based artist Elle LeBlanc, the design has a tropical-meets-mid-century contemporary feel (Jessy Nite is doing the exterior). Great alcoholic beverages and skillfully prepared cuisine are produced by Wild Child in a fantastic environment. Despite the youthful and trendy atmosphere, everyone is welcome.
