Profile
The Kon-Tiki welcomes customers into its indoor and outdoor seating. There is no need to make reservations because they only have first come, first served seating. Their heated outdoor patio is pet-friendly and open to guests with dogs. Christ Aivaliotis and Matthew Reagan are the creators of this downtown Oakland tiki bar and restaurant. Christ’s long-standing ambition to no longer commute to San Francisco but yet go to work every day wearing a Hawaiian shirt inspired the establishment of Kon-Tiki, which became a tropical haven right in the middle of the city.
The Kon-Tiki accommodates downtown Oakland diners from happy hour till late at night with elevated standards of mid-century tiki food and much more from Chef Manuel Bonilla. Food is offered every day of business till the restaurant closes.
The Kon-Tiki serves both innovative tropical libations and traditional tiki beverages from the canon created by Donn Beach and Oakland’s Victor Bergeron. For you to experience paradise in a glass, their rum rhapsodies and other exotic drinks include fresh juices, top-shelf spirits, homemade syrups, and spices from all ports of call. The bar also has non-alcoholic options like the Erdinger N/A Beer and some Teetotaler Tropicals, such as the Virgin Painkiller, which is made with coconut, pineapple, and orange juice.
